Once your gymnast is done competing, stick around and spend a little time enjoying the beautiful city of Grand Rapids. Our city offers visitors a wide range of activities. The public museum is just across the bridge from our host hotels. Connected via skyway to our host hotels, the Van Andel Arena is home to the Grand Rapids Griffins, American Hockey League 2013 Calder Cup Champions. And DeVos Performance Hall, adjacent to DeVos Convention Center features Holiday Pops the weekend of Gymnastics on the Grand and is offering a 20% discount to meet attendees and athletes (see ** below for details).

An approximate 5 minute walk from DeVos Place. The nation’s most entertaining presidential museum puts visitors in the middle of history, whether it’s eavesdropping on the Oval Office or an elegant White House State Dinner. Smithsonian caliber temporary exhibits delight visitors as well.

On October 5, 2007, the new Grand Rapids Art Museum opened its first purpose built museum building, ninety-seven years after its founding in 1910. The collection includes over 5,000 works of art: approximately 3,500 works on paper (prints, drawings, and photographs), 1,200 works of design and modern craft (furniture, ceramics, glass, metal and textiles), and 300 paintings and sculptures. The works on paper collection begins in the year 1500 with works by Dürer and extends to contemporary art. The design collection begins in the modern era of the late 19th century and extends to the present. The collection of painting and sculpture is primarily 19th and 20th century American and European.

Rosa Parks Circle
During the winter, outdoor ice-skating is available at Rosa Parks Circle. The warming house with skate rentals is located in the Grand Rapids Art Museum along Louis Avenue. During the summer, Rosa Parks Circle hosts a variety of free outdoor concerts such as Blues on the Mall Wednesday nights.
